Everyone wants to add drama to their eyes, and I thought a Revlon eyeliner review was just the way to do it.

Revlon Eyeliner Review: The Facts

Revlon has built its reputation on providing top quality products at prices everyone can afford. Even when we reach for the more expensive brands, somehow we always find a Revlon eyeliner at the bottom of our makeup case!

Today's review will focus on Revlon's ColorStay eyeliner in Vixen/Blackberry. Let's get started!

The Application

Revlon makes several assertions about the application and wear of their ColorStay eyeliner, namely:

The pencil glides on smoothly.
Lasts for up to sixteen hours.
Is a waterproof formula that won't smear, budge or fade.

Since this Revlon eyeliner review is here to put these claims to the test, I open the shiny eyeliner package, and begin applying the color. I apply the eyeliner to the top and then the bottom rim of my eyes. I must admit, I'm pretty pleased with what I see.

The Results

Surveying my newly colored eyes, here's what I find:

Pro	True to the package design color. The color is exactly what I'd expect Vixen to look like. It's a pleasing shade of purple, but not one that's harsh at all. In fact, it almost has a slight soft, gray quality to it. Application is very smooth. There definitely was no tugging whatsoever, as the color glided on smoothly and easily. Waterproof. I don't usually go around splashing water on my face after I've applied my eye makeup, but if it's for the Revlon eyeliner review, I'll do it! But I digress. This eyeliner lived up to its claims of being waterproof. I must admit, I didn't splash my eyes vigorously, nor did I pat them dry with a towel (I let it air dry), but the color did stay true.
Cons	A little too smooth. Even though it's a plus that the eyeliner glides on smoothly, there is a tendency for it to go on a little too smoothly. This is not a major disadvantage by any means, but it does mean that you should apply the color carefully. Does it really last for sixteen hours? Let me say that I did not wear this eyeliner for sixteen hours, but I did have it on for at least nine hours. For the amount of time I had it on, though, the color did in fact last.

Note that many other shades besides Vixen/Blackberry are available, including:

I can personally vouch for the black, navy and brown colors, as I've worn all of them and they've all looked fantastic.

To ramp up the eye drama even more, Revlon recommends pairing their eyeliner with their ColoStay Quad Eye Shadow. Revlon claims that they perfectly blend with their eyeliners and are designed to mix and match with all the other looks. Besides its staying power of a whopping twelve hours, the ColorStay quad is also available in fourteen different shades.

Famous Revlon Faces

Revlon's promotional campaigns filled with the devastatingly beautiful faces of Hollywood. Of late, Halle Berry, Julianna Moore and Eva Mendez, all ravishing beauties, have graced both the print and television advertisements of Revlon.

These awe inspiring and talented actresses can be seen sporting the Revlon look of softly colored lips, luscious locks, and sultry eyes.

And although Revlon is famous for its makeup products, the company has recently made a huge push into the multimillion dollar hair coloring industry. With songstress Cheryl Crow featured in their larger then life advertisement campaigns, Revlon is seeking to conquer an even larger section of the beauty industry. If their hair coloring is as good as their makeup products, there's no doubt that they'll be a huge hit in that section as well.

The Verdict

The final verdict, at least from this reviewer, is that Revlon's ColorStay eyeliner is a great product, one that should definitely be a staple in your makeup bag. The color is great, the wear is unbeatable and the end result is gorgeous. Get ready to look great!
