Spritz on some Stella McCartney perfume and treat yourself to scents that are unique, enigmatic and sure to capture attention.
About Stella McCartney
She might best be known as the staunch vegan or as Paul McCartney's daughter, but Stella McCartney has made a huge name for herself in the fashion and beauty industries. In recent years, the stylish designer has just about done it all! She launched her eponymous fashion house in 2001, and introduced a vast line of women's ready-to-wear fashion and accessories, including eyewear and handbags.
During the fall of 2005, McCartney collaborated with Swedish clothing chain Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) to produce a limited edition, one-time collection. Bringing the flair of McCartney's sharp cuts and classic tailoring to the mainstream market, the collection was an instant success, selling out in mere minutes in some locations.
The McCartney label operates three flagship stores, located in London's Mayfair, LA's West Hollywood and New York's Meatpacking District. Additionally, the designer's products are sold at a variety of national and Internet retailers.
The Next Obvious Step
Success clearly and firmly in her grasp, Stella McCartney turned her attention to the beauty industry. The McCartney label teamed with Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Beauté, the Gucci Group's fragrance and cosmetics division, to develop, manufacture and distribute a line of perfumes, cosmetics and skin care products.
YSL Beauté's successful collaborations with brands such as Balenciaga and Boucheron, as well as McCartney's strong hold on the fashion industry, all but guaranteed great things for the designer's venture into beauty.
The Stella McCartney Perfume Collection
Perhaps the most intriguing element of the Stella McCartney perfume collection is its ability to appeal to a broad range of women. One fragrance might be dark and dramatic, while the other might be fresh and fruity. One may halt traffic with its bold notes, while another may delicately scent the air with the slightest hint of something sweet and playful. No matter what a woman's age or personality, she just might find something she'll love in this small, but impressive, collection.
Stella
Aptly named, Stella is the fragrance that started it all in 2003. Its simple name betrays the scent's complexity and depth, and McCartney herself confirmed as much when she said that she wanted it to be more than simply "skipping around the country in a frilly skirt on a summer day." In other words, this isn't a flash-in-the-pan perfume that lasts as long as the latest trend. It's modern, sophisticated and easy to wear in nearly any environment, from the workplace to the cafe.
Created by master perfumer Jacques Cavallier, whose other scents include Carolina Herrera Chic and Alexander McQueen Kingdom, Stella evokes a certain fragility that is best defined by its delicate, feminine notes:
- Rose Essence
- Peony Flower
- Mandarin
- Rose Absolute
- Amber
Consider this scent a study in contrasts: The rose notes are fresh and clean, not unlike the crisp scent of a dewy rose on a summer day, while the amber note is warm and relaxed. It works to soften the buoyant rose note, but doesn't take away from it.
Stella is available in a variety of formulations, including:
- Eau du Parfum Purse Spray
- Eau du Parfum Spray
- Eau du Parfum Roll-On
- Body Cream
- Body Milk
- Body Scrub
Additionally, a stronger version of the scent, called Rose Absolute, is also available. It is comprised of the same notes, but offers a deeper, brighter and more outstanding rose fragrance.
Stella In Two
One shouldn't be surprised to discover McCartney's innovative side. It extends masterfully into the popular fragrance line with the newest member of the collection, Stella In Two. This largely unexpected concept brings two fragrances together in modern packaging, offering the wearer options aplenty.
Stella In Two Peony
This floral eau du toilette is light and sexy, with an unexpectedly spicy twist. The notes include:
- Pink Peony
- Black Pepper
- Amber
- Cedar Wood
- Patchouli
Stella In Two Amber
This solid perfume is formulated to be layered with the Peony scent or worn alone. Either way, its deep, enigmatic and rich amber note is powerful and seductive.
